ABOUT
TRAVIS COY

Experience. Integrity. Service.

Travis Coy has dedicated more than two decades to serving the people of Hillsborough County in the courtroom. Throughout his career, he has handled cases ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious violent felonies, leading and co-chairing more than 100 jury and non jury trials. His experience includes complex litigation, in depth case review and strategy, and courtroom advocacy at the highest levels of responsibility within the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.

Today, Travis serves as Of Counsel with Bush Ross, P.A. where he handles complex civil litigation matters. In this role, he continues to bring disciplined preparation, sound legal judgment, and thoughtful analysis to every case he undertakes.

Previously, as Juvenile Division Chief at the State Attorney’s Office, Travis supervised and mentored prosecutors, developed office wide policies, and collaborated with community partners to strengthen the justice system’s response to youth and families. His leadership was grounded in professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to fairness. Colleagues describe him as steady, thoughtful, and deeply committed to ethical practice.

Travis is seeking to continue his service on the bench because he believes judges must be experienced, prepared, and grounded in integrity. His career reflects a lifelong commitment to public service, not only in the courtroom but also through professional leadership and meaningful community involvement throughout Hillsborough County.

He approaches this opportunity with humility, gratitude, and a deep respect for the rule of law.
